Install in Claude

DocketDrafter works in Claude on the web and desktop. To get started, add the custom connector, allow Claude to download files from DocketDrafter, and sign in with your DocketDrafter account.

If you use Claude Teams, an organization admin must complete the organization setup first. Each team member then connects their own DocketDrafter account. For a personal Claude account, you can complete all the steps yourself.

MCP URL — use this when adding the custom connector:

https://api.docketdrafter.com/mcp

Allowed domain — use this under Capabilities → Allowed Domains:

api.docketdrafter.com

The allowed domain does not include https:// or /mcp.

Claude Teams: organization setupCopy Anchor Link

These steps require a Claude organization admin. If you do not see Organization Settings, ask your admin to complete them.

Add the connectorCopy Anchor Link

1. Open Organization Settings → Connectors.
2. Select Add → Custom → Web.
3. Enter DocketDrafter as the name and https://api.docketdrafter.com/mcp as the server URL.
4. Select Continue, then Add. The default connector settings are fine.

This makes DocketDrafter available to your team, but does not sign individual users in.

Allow file downloadsCopy Anchor Link

1. In Organization Settings, open Capabilities.
2. Scroll down and turn on Allow Network Egress.
3. If network access is restricted, add api.docketdrafter.com under Allowed Domains in the domain allow list.

If All Domains is already selected, no additional domain entry is needed. You do not need to allow all domains to use DocketDrafter; allowing api.docketdrafter.com is sufficient.

DocketDrafter returns Word documents, PDFs, and other files. Claude needs permission to download these files from DocketDrafter so it can display them in your conversation.

Connect each team member's accountCopy Anchor Link

Each team member who will use DocketDrafter must complete these steps in their own Claude account:

1. Open Customize → Connectors → Yours.
2. Find DocketDrafter and select Connect.
3. In the sign-in window, log in with the account you use for the DocketDrafter app.
4. Select Allow to authorize Claude, then return to Claude.

A green check in the Status column confirms the connection. You can revoke authorization at any time; see Authentication & permissions.

1. Open Customize → Connectors.
2. Select Add custom connector.
3. Enter DocketDrafter as the name and https://api.docketdrafter.com/mcp as the server URL.
4. Select Continue and finish adding the connector.

In Customize → Connectors, select Connect for DocketDrafter. Log in with your DocketDrafter account and select Allow. A green check in the Status column confirms the connection.

You can revoke authorization at any time; see Authentication & permissions.

After connecting DocketDrafter or changing connector or network settings, start a new chat. Existing conversations will not pick up the changes.

To confirm that Claude can access your DocketDrafter account, ask:

What is in my DocketDrafter workspace?

Claude should use DocketDrafter to check your workspace and report what it finds. This lets you verify the connection without creating or changing anything, even if your workspace is empty.

On Claude Teams, ask your organization admin to confirm that DocketDrafter was added under Organization Settings → Connectors. Then check Customize → Connectors → Yours in your own account.

Documents won't downloadCopy Anchor Link

Check that Allow Network Egress is turned on and that api.docketdrafter.com is in Allowed Domains, or that All Domains is selected. On Claude Teams, your organization admin must configure these permissions. Start a new chat after changing them.

An existing chat can't use DocketDrafterCopy Anchor Link

Start a new chat after connecting DocketDrafter or changing settings. Confirm that DocketDrafter shows a green check in the connector's Status column.
